Memorial Day Weekend
Phew, time flies when you have three kids. Big news in our house in the month of May – Persy turned TWO!! and Paxton turned six months, or as his big sister prefers to say, Paxton is Zero and a Half.
Other items of note – Piper is in her first soccer season. It is off to a very slow start. She refused to participate in the first game of the season when she discovered that the team shirts were maize yellow. She came around on that by week two, thanks to her grandma sewing a matching hair bow for her to wear. She raised her hand when the coach asked for volunteers to start game two and she followed through until “everyone kept taking the ball away from” her and then she wanted nothing to do with the game.
Persy talks none stop from dawn to dusk – everyday she adds new words and concepts to her vocabulary. Right now she is quite big on colors, shapes and numbers. She is giving her big sister a run for her money on learning to read. Piper knows more letters than Persy but only because Piper’s teachers work on that with her at school. Persy loves to move, to dance, to try gymnastics and she really wants to be out there playing soccer.
Paxton isn’t sitting or crawling yet. He does however love to play in his exersaucer or doorway bouncer. He is very in tune with what is happening in the household and is completely amazed by everything. He is very quick to smile and laugh.
I have gone back to work part-time while continuing to work on growing my freelance business. If the number of proposals and new business meetings I have had in the past month are any indication – Paradessa Communications will soon be my full-time employer!
Summer is just around the corner – now that we are through the newborn phase with P3, it is nice to start making plans and increasing the number of things we can do. Eric and I took a whirlwind trip to the Grand Canyon at the end of April. We are definitely looking forward to more trips to the Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Monica and up to the mountains this summer. A trip to Oregon is also in the works for late summer and another at Thanksgiving.
