Memorial Day Weekend

May 30, 2010

Phew, time flies when you have three kids. Big news in our house in the month of May – Persy turned TWO!! and Paxton turned six months, or as his big sister prefers to say, Paxton is Zero and a Half.

Other items of note – Piper is in her first soccer season. It is off to a very slow start. She refused to participate in the first game of the season when she discovered that the team shirts were maize yellow. She came around on that by week two, thanks to her grandma sewing a matching hair bow for her to wear. She raised her hand when the coach asked for volunteers to start game two and she followed through until “everyone kept taking the ball away from” her and then she wanted nothing to do with the game.

Persy talks none stop from dawn to dusk – everyday she adds new words and concepts to her vocabulary. Right now she is quite big on colors, shapes and numbers. She is giving her big sister a run for her money on learning to read. Piper knows more letters than Persy but only because Piper’s teachers work on that with her at school. Persy loves to move, to dance, to try gymnastics and she really wants to be out there playing soccer.

Paxton isn’t sitting or crawling yet. He does however love to play in his exersaucer or doorway bouncer. He is very in tune with what is happening in the household and is completely amazed by everything. He is very quick to smile and laugh.

I have gone back to work part-time while continuing to work on growing my freelance business. If the number of proposals and new business meetings I have had in the past month are any indication – Paradessa Communications will soon be my full-time employer!

Summer is just around the corner – now that we are through the newborn phase with P3, it is nice to start making plans and increasing the number of things we can do. Eric and I took a whirlwind trip to the Grand Canyon at the end of April. We are definitely looking forward to more trips to the Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Monica and up to the mountains this summer. A trip to Oregon is also in the works for late summer and another at Thanksgiving.

How embarrassing!

April 1, 2010

Okay, I will admit I think I have a pretty good handle on things – three kids, two dogs, one husband, one roller-coaster career. I am fortunate to have the help of my mother-in-law and our two neighbors to pinch hit with the kids when I have a grown-up appointment to attend or need some quality writing time.

But, today, when I said that I thought it had been a month since my last entry on the blog…I was sorely mistaken. It’s been three months since my last post (forgive me, Father, for it’s been…..) and nearly four since the last kid update! Those of you who also have the foresight/misfortune to follow me on Facebook won’t have noticed this gaff.

So, let me bring you all up to speed. Life is good. Our “Ferrytale” is full of princesses, castles, witches, dragons and occasionally a bear and three goldilocks. I vow to be more frequent in my updates now that P3 allows me a little more time to myself.

Happy Christmas to All!

December 25, 2009

We prepped for Santa’s arrival by making cookies and decorating plates to put them on. Apparently they were good cookies because Santa ate all of them and drank his milk as well!

Christmas Eve dinner was great, Eric made ribs and Tri-Tip on the grill. His parents joined us and we had a quiet peaceful little dinner. Great desserts and unscheduled visits from our favorite neighbors topped off the evening.

The girls had fun opening presents and got really excited when they looked outside and saw that they had a new playhouse.

A week before Christmas

Here are a few more recent shots – some taken this morning of Piper and Paxton while Pi was waiting to go to school. Also, I included a few from the day that Paxton came home from the hospital.

Weekend Adventures

September 7, 2009

A three day weekend means triple the fun. We have had several good meals -probably the best was breakfast for dinner, just the girls during Daddy’s poker night.

A new blog for the whole family!

September 4, 2009

Over the years I have had cooking blogs, writing boards, baby-raising forums, baby blogs and my addiction to Facebook…I am just a social media junkie. I realize that in the past year – focusing on Facebook has left many of our friends and family in the dark so I am back to blog about the goings-on in our world.

I hope you enjoy!
